The "KAWASEMI 185F" is a subsurface swimming pencil developed specifically for its range-keeping performance within 30cm directly below the water's surface.
To induce "underwater bites," characteristic of large yellowtail amberjack under high pressure, we thoroughly pursued optimal range, action, and wave generation.
All weights used in the lure are made of tungsten.
Despite its fixed center of gravity, it achieves both excellent casting distance and high responsiveness, demonstrating stable castability even in situations where casting against the wind is necessary.
Furthermore, by adjusting the floating posture in millimeter increments, an exquisite balance close to a standing float is achieved.
It starts action immediately upon landing without any time lag, consistently maintaining its position within 30cm directly below the surface under all conditions.
When retrieved steadily, it generates a unique "Dutch roll action" that combines rolling and an S-curve trajectory. With a natural yet impactful wave, it effectively appeals to the lateral lines of wary large yellowtail amberjack that have learned to avoid conventional swimming pencils.
【HOW TO USE】
The basic operation is steady retrieve.
By adjusting the retrieve speed according to the strength of the current and the activity level of the fish, you can maximize the lure's inherent action.
Additionally, by slightly advancing the rod tip during a steady retrieve and intentionally creating a momentary line slack, you can create a "feeding pause" for the lure.
This instant change in action triggers the feeding switch of trailing fish, leading to a bite opportunity.
This method is particularly effective in situations where fish are chasing but not fully committing to a bite, or in high-pressure fishing grounds.
