NatureBoys ROCKRIDER 120g
From the rocky shore and boat to the rough seas
A tough iron jig for targeting large amberjacks and migratory fish
An iron jig designed for casting to target large yellowtail, amberjack, and tuna.
It offers the casting distance required for shore and offshore fishing, a light retrieve resistance that allows continuous jerking, and a front-weighted, thick design that catches the current even when retrieved diagonally.
It features a sharp darting action followed by a fluttering fall, and when reversed ("inverted"), it also supports continuous vertical fishing, allowing for precise targeting of feeding ranges. It is destined to become a dream and hope for big game jigging anglers.
Released in 2022 after 3.5 years of testing in the Izu Islands, Amami Islands, Sotobo, and Tsushima.

●Rockrider Development History and Impressions

Autumn 2018
Development began around autumn 2018.
At that time, development started with an 85g jig for rockshore fishing.
Paradoxically, it started as a rear-heavy model, which is the opposite of the final form.
Multiple models weighing around 85g were tested for rockshore jigging in the Izu Islands.
When used rear-heavy, it performs continuous jerking like a "jakajaka-maki" retrieve. When used head-heavy, it functions as an iron jig that emphasizes sliding with a long-stroke one-pitch jerk.

It's always nice to catch cute little fish like this with a prototype. First catch.
The former seems to be effective for amberjack and yellowtail, while the latter appears to be good for kingfish.
However, the conventional eye specifications of iron jigs revealed problems with eye crushing and durability in the harsh rockshore and casting environments.

While ensuring ease of attachment, all models now incorporate reinforced eye specifications.
Spring 2019
Subsequently, trials were conducted for offshore casting in Sotobo and the Izu Islands.
The focus was not only on the rear-heavy concept but also on the sliding performance and range-keeping ability when used in reverse.
It achieved a current-grabbing capability similar to a short jig, setting it apart from traditional swim baits.
Autumn 2019
Although it originated from rockshore tests in the Izu Islands and Amami Islands,
testing was conducted in Sotobo, Tsushima, and the Goto Islands, targeting large kingfish in shallow areas with an offshore approach.

Spring 2021
In recent popular cherry salmon jigging, staff members discovered its effectiveness in different situations.
The range-keeping and darting action when used head-heavy were found to be effective.
It can cover a wide area just below the surface for tuna and yellowfin tuna in open seas,
and by switching between head-heavy and rear-heavy, it offers the versatility to adapt flexibly to fish activity and feeding patterns.
It can be described as a highly responsive jig that achieves the iron jig's characteristic darting and horizontal fall in a compact size.
Conversely, by reversing it, it can also be used for fishing that entices fish to chase at linear speeds.

Approaching from rocky shores, from the boat to rough seas
You want to attract large fish lurking around reefs and in shallow areas with precision, and you want to entice them to chase at high tempo near the surface.

In such situations, please let the fish tell you.
This is a versatile jig that performs well whether in offshore casting & jigging or rockshore fishing.
Please give this piece of iron, embodying dreams and hopes, a try.
