In jerking, the lure dares not to turn sideways, but bounces its buttocks up while suppressing the dart, and ticks its range in small increments. The fall is a moment when the lure stays in a diagonal upward position for a moment, and then sinks in that position. This triggers a reaction bite from the target fish. The target fish is fish eaters in general, but we are especially confident in using it for cherry trout, hairtail fish, and sea bass. When a small silhouette is effective or in situations where the lure does not like to dart, this jig is sure to be one of the newest additions to the Iron Jig lineup!
【TINYROBBER Development History】
2018 - 2020
Development began around the autumn of 2018.
At the time, development started with a focus on urban bay areas for hairtail and sea bass.
After repeated trials and errors, it was nearing completion as a highly effective lure in practical tests in Tokyo Bay and Suruga Bay. However, the hairtail market at the time was crowded with cost-effective overseas products, and development was temporarily halted as the chances of success for Japanese-made iron jigs, with production costs significantly higher than lead, seemed slim.
Despite this, NatureBoys staff continued to record good catches in their private jigging trips, and its reliability for hairtail jigging, in particular, was strong.
Early February 2021
Sakuramasu jigging was conducted on a boat owned by our company in Rokkasho Village, Aomori Prefecture, where iron jigs are produced. It was early in the season, and with uncertainty about the presence of Sakuramasu, exploring the middle layer with the classic Swim Rider Short occasionally resulted in bites but no hook-ups.
After multiple missed bites, a sudden intuition led to a lure change to this prototype. From then on, an unbelievable streak of 6 consecutive catches followed, leading to the decision to stop fishing, fearing overfishing. At that moment, the halted development resumed.
Mid-February to Mid-March 2021
Repeated field tests were conducted at Cape Shiriyazaki, at the tip of the Shimokita Peninsula in Aomori Prefecture, and in the surrounding waters. Various prototypes were tried, and fine adjustments were made, with verification based on descent speed, fish reactions, and differences in catch rates compared to others.
Late March to Late April 2021
The team split into the Shimokita group and the Ofunato, Iwate group, continuing practical tests.
With the prototypes narrowed down to 3 patterns, multiple people, including factory craftsmen, verified them, and the prototype with the highest performance was approved.
And so, it was named "TINYROBBER,"

Its targets include Sakuramasu and hairtail, which have seen a rise in popularity in recent years, as well as all fish-eaters.
Among the lineup of iron jigs that excel at sliding and horizontal posture, it is a distinctly unique presence that intentionally avoids turning sideways and suppresses darting.
Nevertheless, the momentary pause characteristic of iron jigs induces bites.
It will undoubtedly become one of the new tools in the iron jig arsenal when a small silhouette is effective or in situations where darting is undesirable.
